"Finally, a blog post" I hear you say, and this is one blog post that I really cannot show any enthusiasm for as I personally think it looks ridiculous, but I would love to hear your opinions on the subject.
A trailer has been posted for the Xbox 360 exclusive Dragon Ball Z Kinect game, due to be released in October in both Europe and North America. You control the game with your body movements, throwing punches and holding a guard being the main two motions shown in the trailer, but disappointly does not show how to throw a Kamehameha...
Here is the trailer, then followed by my opinion on the game:
The trailer doesn't actually look too bad, apart from the fact the actor is constantly smiling instead of popping veins from his arms and screaming uncontrollably whilst powering up, but as a fan of DBZ and with friends who are also fans of the series, I cannot see a single fan actually playing it. However, most of my friends are what would be described as hardcore gamers, and therefore would not give the Kinect a second chance, but when I first saw an announcement for this game I mentioned it to my friends and the first reaction was normally a laugh followed by "who the hell would want to do that?".
I admit that when I was younger we would mimic the anime we saw on television, throwing imaginery pokeballs at insects or pretending to hadouken/kamehameha each other being the main ones, and the game may have seemed like a good idea then, but now that I am a bit older (I'm going to be 24 in a few days time) I just cannot see the fun in getting out of my seat and pretending to throw punches at an expensive webcam...
